Works as described. However, it may clash with other add-ons. I use the new Auto Profile Picture which fetches avatars for the message headers, but Compact Headers reverts them back to basic grey circles.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.5).

Having said that, this is an Auto Profile Picture bug, it works in newsgroup accounts, albeit buggy.
APP always shows the placeholder message instead of the default one letter avatar when it can't find an icon.
