Force Authentication at Startup.

Always ask password and hide UI at start up until authentication is done.

Backup/restore download status of POP3 accounts around verifyLogon.
verifyLogon for POP3 servers clears download state of existing mails unexpectedly.

Some add-ons ask for permission to perform certain functions. Since you’re in control of your Thunderbird, the choice to grant or deny these requests is yours.
