Works like described, great, no beta for me. (2.6.2/TB5.0)
Only things missing is export folder structures to eml...

*** Works great with one account and not all details AND ITS FAST ***, but because I use more google accounts and need more sync settings and more contact details (e.g. images) I switched to https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/gcontactsync/

***** Syncs 2way & quite fast with images and every contact details (0.3.3/TB5.0) *****
I like it more than http://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/google-contacts/
