Wouldn't it be possible to integrate this into Lightning proper (as an opt-in option or something) rather than developing separately?

Fantastic idea. No more need for chasing after passwords by asking the site to provide a password reset via an email link for little-used accounts :)

As said below, Wladimir Palant is a genius :)This gets rid of all those awkward fake-toolbar type things that clutter web pages at the top or bottom of the page, stay fixed there when you scroll and attempt to get you to "share" stuff (e.g on some blog platforms such as over-blog)
