This add-on is great, very handy for seeing more of the message in the split view (it only has a small glitch, i.e. occasionally headers are half-collapsed and you have to click on [±] to get back to a consistent state).

Is there any chance that it gets updated for Thunderbird 78? (I guess it’s harder to implement now with WebExtensions?)

You are right. And this will not change. This addon page is here for users of older versions of Thunderbird. But I will soon disable it.

I agree with all : Thunderbird is not the same without this extension. Did you plan an update for version 78.* ?

Great add-on. I would never use Thundebird without it.
It is not compatible with version 78 so I think I will revert to version 68. Thunderbird is unusable without your add-on. Thank you for fantastic job.

I've used and loved CompactHeader for years. I miss it tremendously. I understand the author's reluctance to try to keep up with Thunderbird developer's changing all the time. I wish there was some way we could encourage the jmozmoz to continue his great work. Please, Please, Please!!!

This *was* a great (five-star) extension that added useful capability to Thunderbird. Unfortunately, Thunderbird's UI changes broke the extension, and the author says they're not continuing development. So even though the extension shows as compatible with, and will install on current versions of Thunderbird, it doesn't work. My one-star rating only reflects the fact that the extension doesn't work anymore, and is NOT intended to reflect on the quality of the author's work.

Thanks jmozmoz for years of work on this great extension! I totally understand your desire to move on to other things, and really appreciate having been able to use the extension for years.

I have no idee, why you can install the addon/use it with Thunderbird 69 or newer. I set the compatible version to 69.01a1 (before) and now 68.*. This seems to be a bug of Thunderbird itself.

I checked it now, and CompactHeader is shown as non-compatible.

This is an essential add-on for Thunderbird. But it does not work on the new Thunderbird 78.0. Would you please update it?

Sorry, but there will be no update for Thunerbird 78.0. It would require a complete rewrite of the addon. Also, there are already plans for a complete change of the user interface, which again, would require a new rewrite.

Very useful. The original Thunderbird should behave like this. But deleting or stripping attachments does not work with CompactHeader activated. Please fix it!

Sorry, I cannot reproduce this error. Can you try to disable/uninstall all other addons. Does this help? What operating system/Thunderbird version? Please post details either here, on github or the support thread on mozillazine.

Still very useful. Unfortunately, it floods the error console with messages, you have to set
extensions.CompactHeader.debugLevel=3 and restart Tb to turn this behavior off. Since the Options dialog doesn't support setting the debug level anymore, you should consider setting the default to 3

Brilliant. Thank you so much.I had been trying to avoid the upgrade to 68 as I read that many of my add ons wouldn`t be compatible with the new version, sadly I was updated and left with a rubbish dull looking page with a huge header taking up way too much room. So much better now, but could I perhaps ask if it might be possible to have a few colour options for this header, just to highlight the screen separation? Well done and thanks again.
