This is the best addon I have installed in Thunderbird. Therefore I'm really sad that it doesn't seem to work in Thunderbird version 31.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.1).I am on it, its https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1043819
and fixed with 0.6.2

Now when this add-on works on Thunderbird 10 it is just great. Very useful!
However, I have two suggestions to make it even better:
1) The message box that appears and tells me in which folder the e-mail was filed is appearing in a very slow animation on the screen. It takes like 15-20 seconds for it to appear and disappear. (I have the taskbar at the left edge on the screen). While it is showing, I can't move e-mails through folders by hand in Thunderbird.
2) It would be great if the "%20" codes in the same message box were translated into spaces (and the same for other similar and common characters).
:)
The notification uses the alert calls (https://developer.mozilla.org/en/XPCOM_Interface_Reference/nsIAlertsService)
The alert behavior is controlled by the alert.* preferences. They can be changed in about:config, but this will also influence the message notifications for your normal mail.
For the "%20" codes can you please file a bug at the support site (https://code.google.com/p/filemailextension/issues/list) with a screenshot.
Thanks

When this addon was working it was very useful for me. But when I installed latest version of Thunderbird 9, it stopped working and it made the rest of Thunderbird not work well at all. The Help menu disapeared, the menus that still were there didn't work as they should. I was no longer able to browse through the e-mail folders (inbox, spam, trashcan) and so on. I tried to install Thunderbird 10 beta, but that didnt help. I had to start Thunderbird in safe mode to delete the "FileMail" addon to make everything work again.
I gladly help with information to the developer to make this addon work again.
Indeed, I just limited the version to 8.*, It stopped to work today on my machine so there is a incentive to get it working again.
Sorry for the inconvenience
Update:
I just submitted a updated version for review that fixes the problem for me, the xpi is available at https://filemailextension.googlecode.com/hg-history/7820d8353fb343aa71629fb67bf2aa7fdb2ec046/filemail.xpi
