Hey,
same like "oyle": It's a very functional add-on and I like it so much every day! The only star-minus is because there is no update for thunderbird 60.
If I can use it with thunderbird 60 it would be 5 stars again!!

Ver: 0.17.2 - now disabled
This is a great add-on (since Thunderbird removed Dropbox as a filelink provider for large attachments) and worked well until Version 52 (?). It now is not compatible any longer with version 60. It would be great if the developer could make the necessary adjustments to the add-on, so that it is Version 60-worthy! Thanks in advance.

If you have your own website that allows creating subdomains, this is a great way to send and receive files that are either too large to send as email attachments, or which corporate email systems block for fear of viruses (like executable applications). An outbound file or an inbound grant (permission for someone to send a file to you) appears as a link in a TB message.

The announcement messages (of a file received or grant offered) are bare-bones, and sometimes can trigger an overly sensitive spam filter; unfortunately there's no way to customize them. But that's a minor quibble. It works well and reliably. The developer is very helpful with questions posted on the associated newsgroup.

Upload hangs on Thunderbird 38.0.1

at first many thanks for the great DL Service and the Thunderbird AddOn. I set this up weeks ago and it worked perfect (I never used Filelink before because of security consideration; DL was easy to install on our managed server).

Now we upgraded Thunderbird to version 38.0.1 and nothing is uploaded. The filelink is offered but when I am using it the busy sign beneath the attachment filename is shown for an unlimited time.

If you could report the issue to the main tracker here https://github.com/wavexx/dl/issues (in order not to lose track) it would be great. Reviews are not really meant to troubleshoot problems. That being said, we'll look into that, but please followup the discussion on github.

Update: The version 0.17 fixes this issue and is currently under review. If you don't want to wait, you can see the new versions of the addon under "View other versions" next to the download link.

Very well thought out addon which integrates smoothly with Thunderbird. Makes sending large attachments a breeze. You no longer need to pay cloud storage fees

Also has a very nice web interface which has a Grants feature This allows you to send a key to someone else which gives them a link to send you a large file.If you need to move large files over the Internet, this add-on is as good as it gets

.My hosting company was willing and able to install this for me.

It sounds like a good idea, unfortunately there's no explanation about or even a link to how to install the REST service.

Edit: After I was pointed in the right direction and installed the service with some help of the developer himself, I am very pleased. The Thunderbird implemention is really easy and elegant!

What would be nice is to insert existing tickets in the same formatting style.

The package comes with full installation instructions, which are even readable online: http://www.thregr.org/~wavexx/software/dl/README.html (and I point out that the link is included in the description of the addon itself).
