I think this is a great extension, I've been using it (and previous iterations) for a while.

I have just one issue: it's not quoting plain text emails in the compose window.

Composing in HTML format is fine as well as viewing in plain text or HTML. I tried changing mail.quoted_graphical. Any ideas?

mail.quoteasblock -> false
kann man das ausschalten.

Works great! Many thanks!

Suggestions:
- Allow user to override indents for quote levels
- Allow user to override text color for quote text (not just background)
- Allow user to set borders around quotes levels - Color, Thickness

Allows me to collapse quotes which saves a ton of scrolling. Many thanks for this helpful addon!

Finally switching to Thunderbird for Mail, after using Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey for ~20 years now, I'm very happy to have this extension available. I'm the contributor of the _"Partially collapse quotes"_ [1] feature to the old QuoteCollapse, so I want to point out this customization [2] alternative to the _"By default collapse only quotations that are in sub-quotations"_ option:

/* Establish predictable line-height */
:root, html, html > body {
line-height: 1.4;
}

/* Always show few lines of text of first level collapsed quotes */
blockquote[type="cite"]:not([qctoggled="true"]) {
max-height: 9.1em !important; /* 6.5lh */
}

/* Nested collapsed quotes show just one line of text */
blockquote[type="cite"]:not([qctoggled="true"])
blockquote[type="cite"]:not([qctoggled="true"]) {
max-height: 1.4em !important; /* 1lh */
}

In the options of this addon I saw a lot of options to change colors of quotes, but:

> You can choose between two quoting display modes:
> graphical quoting with colored bars around quoted
> paragraphs (default), and traditional plain text quoting where
> each quoted line starts with one or more ">" characters.

I tried choosing the "plain text quoting where each quoted line starts with one or more ">" characters" but I didn't find the way.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.0.2).

If your goal is to have the ">" displayed in front of each line using the colors from QuoteColors, then this won't be working anymore without changing a hidden pref in about:config. The WX API doesn't allow to change these prefs in about:config, which means for QuoteColors, that it can't manage this pref anymore.

You can try to set "mail.quoted_graphical" to false in about:config. Maybe this is, what you are missing.

The recent change to 3.2.5 seems to have prevented me using PageUp and PageDown keys to scroll through a message.
Also, the Delete key no longer deletes the current message.

If I disable this add-on those keys work.

This is on Linux with TB 91.8.0

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.2.5).

I can't confirm this issue. When the focus is in the preview pane, I can use the keys for up, down. pageUp, pageDown and Delete.

Schön, das auch diese Erweiterung umgeschrieben werden konnte. Vielen Dank!

Thanks for reviving this! It would even more excellent if the functionality of the old Quote Collapse could be incorporated.

Edit: Thanks. If I may suggest a fairly simple way: wrap the quoted block in a <details><summary/>[quoted block]</details> structure. The summary might contain the first line of the block text.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0a5).

From up version 3.0a7 you can collapse the quotes. This has to be enabled in addons options.

Alexander, I really like this extension, but I have a question. I couldn't find any way to contact you via the extension home page. Is there a way that I'm missing?

Excellent - so nice to see this useful add-on back and working with TB 78.

Please enable usage in TB 82+.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.5).

This website limits the maximum version that can be selected. Alternatively, one could theoretically do without the Max version, which can later become a problem for "normal" users. Are you using beta versions? Then please be able to adapt the max version of an add-on yourself.

Great! Finally, thanks for the great work ;)

Be patient, the version for Thunderbird 78 will be uploaded tomorrow:
- Version 1.* is for Thunderbird 68.*
