In TB3 the security error dialog box does not offer you to add an exception for RSS feeds or remote calendars. You can however add an exception manually. Goto Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Certificates -> View Certificates -> Servers -> Add Exception. Fill in the server's address and add the exception.

I have this problem and the note below talks about this addon not being needed with FF 3.0 which I am using. It appears that Thunderbird is not up to 3.0 yet. So I guess I still need this addon. Without it, I still get some warning dialog boxes.

I run an ssh tunnel back to my network for mail, so I always get this message. This extension is a great help!
At one point Thunderbird wasn't showing me the checkbox. It turns out that the dialog window didn't grow to accomodate the checkbox and I just had to resize it.

This is an absolute MUST have addon! Specially for us poor souls who are stuck with a shared server :-)
Imagine you have a domain name www.abc.com and you an email id info@abc.com Every time you try to send a mail through info@abc.com (using Thunderbird) you are prompted a security confirmation, with the dialogue box having the following heading:
Security Error :: Domain Name Mismatch
This happens because your domain www.abc.com is in a shared server that has hundreds of other domains too. And therefore the certificate that your server presents to Thunderbird does not have your domain name (www.abc.com) anywhere in it. And so Thunderbird thinks that it to be a scam!
This addon makes you confirm once and then Thunderbird never again asks for the confirmation. Brilliant! One feature that should be inherent in the Thunderbird application itself. Thanks a lot to the developer :-)
Cheers!

I am so glad there are people, like yourself, that see a problem and are smart enough to know how to fix it. You are the undisputed hero of annoying security alerts!

Today is my day for writing all of the reviews that I should have written awhile ago. This is one of those unsung-hero add-ons. You install it; it works; you never have to think about it; and it solves a major annoyance. It's excellent.

It worked great the first time I installed it. Thank you for fixing something that Thunderbird should have fixed a long time ago. When I was searching the net I came across this old thread. What is wrong with these people? They are quite rude and don't want to admit TB has a bug!! Anyway glad you fixed it for them..thanks.

Excellent!
But ... I have FF3 with TB2. FF3 doesn't need the extention and so won't let me download it. But TB2 does need it. So I had to use MSIE to download it so I could install it into TB. Now that's the very definition of irony!

I am getting continuous mismatched domain messages, so I tried installing, it says it can not install because I have Firefox 3.0, supposedly I don't need it because I have Firefox 3.0 but I still get the messages so it looks like I do need it but I can't install it, sounds like a catch 22
