I had the same problem as "sfchains" with v0.6.40. Changes in the TB address book have not been synchronized with google. So I simply used the v0.6.41b1 from http://hogi.sakura.ne.jp/en/downloadcgi.rhtml?gmcont and this solved the issue :) I'm using TB 14.0 on Xubuntu 12.04.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.40).To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
