CloseReviews for Provider for Google Calendar by Greg

David, see my January 19 review. CalDAV is easy to set up.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (78.0.1).Rated 1 out of 5 stars
It's too bad this previously effective add-on has stopped working for a lot of us. Like many, my Google calendars no longer display when TB launches. I've tried many fixes that work for a while, but eventually stop. I finally gave up! Now, I use CalDAV to sync my Google calendars to TB's Lightning calendar and it works very well. There is no add-on to install. It requires a bit more setup, but it's easy. If you want to try it, follow these steps:
1. Unsubscribe to your existing calendars and uninstall Provider,
2. restart TB,
3. open the Lightning calendar,
4. right-click in Calendar pane and select "New Calendar",
5. select "On the Network",
6. select "CalDAV", enter your GMail user name (email address if that's your user name) in User field; enter a URL (see below) for your calendar in the location field, and; leave "On-Line Support" checked if you want the calendar to work if you are off line,
7. name the calendar and select its color; check "Show Reminders", and; select your GMail address,
8. sign-in to Google and give Lightning permission to access your calendar,
9. a confirmation that your calendar has been created should appear, and
10. click "Finish".
The URL for step 6, above, is https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/calid/events
where you must replace "calid" with the "calendar ID" of the calendar you want to access. The calendar ID for your primary calendar is your email address. If you have other calendars, sign in to your Google calendar through a web browser. Click the "more" menu (three dots) next to the calendar's name and select "Settings and sharing". On the next page, the calendar ID is shown in the section called "Integrate Calendar".
