Review for DuckDuckGo (HTTPS / SSL) by rottenapple

Privacy and free internet services almost make an oxymoron. Luckily, only almost. On the other hand sites need revenue to provide quality service and on the other hand too many of them compromise user privacy while doing so. Google in itself isn't the worst of the lot (Facebook feels much worse), but their policies should certainly be of concern to any privacy-oriented person. Anyone who says they aren't concerned about datamining because they have nothing to hide, should be asked why do they even lock their doors at night? I know i lock mine because it is my home, my private property. Just the fact that nothing illegal happens at my home doesn't mean strangers should be able to walk in and out at will, especially without me even knowing about it.
Google isn't the only skillful player on the field, and DuckDuckGo proves this. Here's hoping DDG never closes its doors, and never starts harvesting data despite the need to generate revenue.
