Identity Chooser is an absolute "Life Saver" for me! I own my own domain, and I have lots and lots of different email addresses using that domain. This helps me keep that all sorted.

Suggestions:
1. auto-sort alphabetically (by email address or by name?)
2. Apply the sort order to Thunderbird's Identity Manager.

AND

3. Add the ability to search for an email address in the chooser!

I've been using Identity Chooser for several years, it has always worked perfectly. I got the new version with my recent update to Thunderbird 115, and I agree with the other people who have pointed out that the font and vertical spacing on the new "choice" box are too big. But that's a small deal, and I'm glad to see the extension being developed and updated. Thanks.

Also, having a donation button somewhere on the tool won't necessarily get you rich, but it would provide a way that grateful people like me could send you some less wordy appreciation.

Before TB 115, I could hit CTRL-M while I my target email account was highlighted and it bypassed Identity Chooser, which was great. No extra step. Now with 115, I cannot bypass. Wish you could bring this back. Thanks.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.1).

Not reacting to Ctrl+M was a bug and not the intended behavior. Identity Chooser is all about forcing the user to explicitly choose the sender identity. In TB115, Identity Chooser works as intended.

The identity list is much better... but still too large. Not a bug, but it is aesthetically unattractive to have the list cover 75% of the composition window. I would donate to be able to control the size of the identity list.

If you have several identities this prevents you from using the wrong one and making a tool out of yourself.

Thank you!

Could you please open an issue at Github about this an post a screen shot?

oops, the way it works has significantly changed ... okay ... at least it prevents the case which I had claimed about last time.

One point is a bit bad though in the new version:

The list of identities is much too big. Please make it smaller and/or provide configuration parameters for font size and line pitch. it´s not only that I need to scroll down to see everything, especially the big line pitch makes it hard to screen the list quickly.

Thanks for the useful addon - I wish this feature was just included by default.

Can you please update it for TB 115? Thanks.

I'm working on it. You can download a pre-release version from Github.

There does not seem to be a way to add new a new address to the drop-down. I just get my usual address. Not much new with that.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.2).

Identity Chooser simply shows all addresses that you've setup in Thunderbird.

If you add a new account (or a new address to an existing account), Identity Chooser will pick it up automatically.

Is a great addon overall. Have been using it for quite a while.

But after a recent TB update, replying to an email opens up multiple reply windows. Disabling the addon solves the issue.

May not be playing nice with other addons but never had the problem until recently. Using 102.2.1 (64-bit).

The addon is great... Well, it *WAS*. It is not so great anymore, at least not for people using keyboard instead of mouse... Since 102 (TB 102.1.0 64bit) when using keyboard shortcut Ctrl-R there is no list of identities to choose from. But when hitting reply button it works as it used to work. Any chance to look into the behaviour after Ctrl-R shortcut?

Perfect ! I can't work without it !!

Juste a question : Is-it compatible with TB 102 ?
if no, Will it be updated ?
Thanks .

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1).

Hey,

thanks for getting in touch. Identity Chooser 3.1 is already compatible with Thunderbird 102.

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

When replying or forwarding, it should include the address the replied or forwarded message was sent to.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1).

Identity Chooser supports two modes: 1) either you have to choose the sender address for your reply or forward using the drop down menu; 2) in Identity Chooser's settings you can disable the drop down menu for reply and forward. In this case, Thunderbird's default behavior kicks in which means, the sender of your reply or forward should be the address the email was sent to.

So: Please configure Identity Chooser such that it suits your needs. Should I misread your review and you meant something else, please open an issue at Identity Chooser's github and I'll see what I can do.

Sopped using this extension. It would repeatedly select an identity that was for archival purposes only and should never have been used for replies.
Even after unchecking the affected email address and restarting Thunderbird the problem persisted until I deactivated the extension completely.

Essential add-on for anyone with more than a couple accounts. PLEASE add to choose account when selecting Edit as New--that will make it five stars for me!

Sehr hilfreiches, eigentlich 5-Sterne-Addon. Leider werden Fehler seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr behoben. Schade.
