How to set the CardBook preference thunderbird.addColumns to false?

The persistent automatic addition of 3 columns by CB to the email list is troublesome. Really not quite sure about the use of these 3 columns. Please give an option for disabling it.

Very slow and frequent hangs after upgrading to TB102.
