My Reviews
Attachment Extractor
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This addon is very useful for me.
There is a problem with %subject% placeholder in TB 115.13.0 64 bit for Linux, if subject have non ascii characters.
Addon does not work when using this placeholder, it does not save files and throw an error "Could not save attachment. Aborting.".
When I use placeholders except %subject%, then addon always works perfectly for me.
LookOut (fix version)
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
It works! But didn't opens files with spaces in file names (Ubuntu 22.04 // Thunderbird 115.9.0 64 bit // LookOut 6.2).
Here stderr output when trying to open a file with spaces in a file name:
console.error: "AttachmentInfo.open: file - file:///tmp/\u0421 \u043D \u043E \u0410 \u2116 4-012 \u043E\u0442 19 \u0430 2024 \u0433.pdf, [Exception... \"Component returned failure code: 0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) [nsIMIMEInfo.launchWithFile]\" nsresult: \"0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND)\" location: \"JS frame :: resource:///modules/AttachmentInfo.sys.mjs :: _openFile :: line 425\" data: no]"
There is workaround:
1) Open mail in thunderbird.
2) Open /tmp in file manager. Here you can open attached files or copy it to other location (e.g. ~/Downloads).
Edit Email Subject (EES)
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
After plugin was updated to v6.1 (2013-10-13), it began to damage the letters with utf-8 subject.
For example
Original subject:
Subject: =?UTF-8?B?0YLQtdGB0YI=?=
After plugin applied (dash sign has added to the end of original subject)
Subject: ÑеÑÑ-
Moreover, not only the email header is damaged, but also the email body is damaged.
enca states that character set of modified e-mail is 'Doubly-encoded to UTF-8 from ISO-8859-5'.
Thus text messages in modified emails are completely losts.
Be careful when using the new version of this plugin.
UPD This happens only when 'Only local changes' is unactive.
