Developer Assistant
Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Just looking into this tool. Haven't tried it. Many recent reviews point out that it is not working - no longer creates an XPI. Perhaps it may be awhile before it is fixed since it appears to be Google developed and work on their Chrome browser likely takes precedence.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3.0.20100706.1-signed.1-signed).QuickFolders (Tabbed Folders)
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
As a consequence of doing business I have accumulated well over 6000 email messages located in 500 folders and sub-folders (up to five levels deep). I am really happy with QuickFolders for easing access to my messages. I actually sent Axel $50USD. If my business ever recovers I will try to do something similar for other extension developers. Money is the best rating system there is.
I've been sending email since about 1985 and using Thunderbird since 2001. It's the best IMO.
I also recommend Allow HTML Temp, CompactHeader, Copy Sent to Current, Folderpane Tools, Manually sort folders, Printing Tools, Quicktext, and Show Address Only.

Oops, I made a keyboard error in my Indispensable review. The <em:maxVersion> should read 3.1.*

I think this is an absolutely great, and for me, indispensable addon.
All my business email is organized into folders and sub-folders based on activity and company.
Example: I have a Sales folder, under which are folders for Industrial, Government, Dealers, etc. Then there are further sub-folders for each company.
Also, I need to store email for years for historical and legal reasons.
Having all outgoing mail dumped into a generic Sent folder does not work when trying to find an old email.
With hundreds of folders to track this addon is absolutely necessary.
Since the current version of this addon does not work with Thunderbird 3.1.x I have edited the <em:maxVersion> in the install.rdf (part of the xpi file) to read 3.1.8.
This has saved me in the past with other addons for Firefox and Thunderbird until the author provides an official update, though it doesn't always work.

Thank you. It is simple to use and effective. I prefer to see the actual email address rather than the name which I may have entered into the address book. Also, it gives a consistent look which for me is easier to view. Also helps with sorting out junk mail. Currently I am on T-bird 3.05.
Now I need to find an add-on which will quickly copy the column settings from my inbox folder to all my other folders (over 100), rather than do each one manually.
