My Reviews
Provider for Google Calendar
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
(see my two previous comments)
Now I think I know what happened.
The day I switched to version 1.0.x (some day in November '14), the add-on suddenly turned ALL PRESENT AND FUTURE EVENTS to status "Tentative", leaving PAST EVENTS untouched.
But once this has been carried out, new events could be created normally, with the correct "Confirmed" status.
The only cure was lengthy manual reset...
I hope it won't happen again!

@Philipp Kewisch, see initial post below
Yes, I am using an Android Phone, even two... But everything went smoothely until the switch 0.3.2 => 1.0.x
And everything looks fine on my phone(s).
Not sure I am able to enter a technical debug session, but I'll take a look.
Meanwhile, maybe you get a solution on your side.
Thanks for support anyway!

Provider for Google Calendar
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
First of all, thank you very much for providing this addon!
Now fully part of the Firefox/Thunderbird/Google ecosystem.
Used to work mostly fine through all these years, with a recent glitch in the latest version.
My test case: TB 31.3.0 FR / Lihting 3.3.1 / GA Provider 1.0.3 / Win7 Pro FR
With this versions ALL EVENTS ARE MARKED AS "TENTATIVE" (in French: "Provisoire"), thereby appearing greyed in calendar.
Of course one can edit each event and manually set status to "Confirmed" (in French: "Confirmé"), BUT THIS IS NO SOLUTION.
Tried to uninstall/reinstall GA Provider, tried previous versions, tried restarting TB, nothing worked...
Seems like a bug in GA Provider.
In this case, when do you plan a fix?
If not a bug, is there a way to mass-edit events and set ALL statuses to "Confirmed"?
Thank you in advance

Copy Sent to Current
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Hello and thank you for this very useful addon.
Currently, however, the addon is useless with a Gmail IMAP account.
Indeed, as explained by a Google engineer in this post
http://lifehacker.com/314574/turn-thunderbird-into-the-ultimate-gmail-imap-client
the Google IMAP engine:
1/ ALWAYS copies sent mail to the [Gmail]/Sent IMAP folder, whatever the settings in the email client.
2/ keeps a SINGLE copy of each email (even it is "copied" to other folders), with the following result: if you copy a sent email to some target folder, and further delete this email from the [Gmail]/Sent folder and empty the trash, then this email will ALSO be deleted from the target folder!
Thus the only way out seems to MOVE the email from the [Gmail]/Sent folder to the target folder, AFTER it has been sent.
Any chance you implement this in a near future?
Thanks in advance

Hello
Some time ago I posted a review entitled “VERY DANGEROUS ADDON”, and I would be very happy if the bugs I spotted there have disappeared from latest release 1.0.
However, this is not clear from the changelog, nor from the author's web site.
So, again, did you fix:
1/ the important issue of the LOCALIZED built-in Google groups?
2/ the sync of the PRO fields?
3/ the handling of BIG address books (1000+)?
I do hope so, so please confirm.
But I am in doubt when I read you claim that the addon "never deletes more than 5 entries without asking for confirmation" while some users have seen parts or all of their AB gone...
Please remember that your users, and your potential donators, are non-tech people. DO NOT ASK THEM FOR A LOG FILE OR FOR SPECIFC TESTS. You will just scare them away.
For my part I I'll be happy to donate once the addon REALLY works.
Greetings from France

Regrettably, and despite continuous and obviously sincere efforts from its author, this addon proves VERY DANGEROUS.
Especially for non-English TB versions.
In short; it can completely ruin your ABs, both in Google Contacts and Thunderbird.
Thunderbird version
24.4.0 French
Tested addon versions
both stable 03.36 and release candidate 4.x
Google Contacts configuration
– French version
– built-in groups Family, Coworkers, Friends, etc. automatically localized to Famille, Collègues, Amis, etc. in Google
– custom groups created (in French): Musique, Voyages, etc.
– no Google circles
– all groups populated
– over 1000 contacts
Report
– the same happened with the "stable" adn "release candidate" versions.
– groups become duplicated in TB, with sometimes the French and the English name
– sync between First name, Last Name, Displayed name is not reliable, especially when drag & dropping from another ABs
– sync of Pro fields (Company, etc.) is not working
– eventually one has to restore the TB back-up (abook.map) and the Google backup (reload contacts from an early date).
For non-tech people, this can lead to a disaster.
Please make thorough tests before publishing, or withraw addon!
Google Contacts

Regarding v.05.51 running on TB v2.0.0.21 French
---------------------------------------------------------------
- does NOT sync long lists of contacts with Google Contacts (say over 40, it fails)
- does NOT sync groups, eg. if a contact is drag&dropped, within TB’s Adress book, from the local “Friends” group to Google Contact’s “Friends” group, it fails (named are not synched properly)
This is TOOOO BAD, please fix it as soon as you can.
Many thanks
