Unfortunately, the "Open Google Tasks" Add-on opens only another tab in Thunderbird, which only shows purely one selected list of tasks. Therefore, you do not get an overview of all your lists and tasks. So it is only a very limited view of some tasks.
The Add-on (v1.0) uses the following link to connect with Google tasks. If you try this, you can see what you will get:
https://assistant.google.com/tasks
It would be much better if the Add-on would use the following link instead. This link will provide the whole overview of all your lists and tasks. Which makes a lot more sense:
https://calendar.google.com/tasks
Another nice option would be, to be able to switch between both of these views.
Please T@ntely, it really would be great if you could change this.
(PS: Tested with Thunderbird v.115.18.0)
Thank you for your feedback.
I understand that you'd like to see an overview of all your lists and tasks, rather than just one list at a time.
I can't really change the URL in the current add-on as it would affect existing users, nor can I make it configurable without complicating the add-on.
Instead, I have created a new add-on that provides the functionality you need, but please note that this new add-on uses the default Google Tasks URL (tasks.google.com):
https://addons.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/addon/open-google-tasks-default/
For future feature requests, I encourage you to visit the support site: https://support.tantely.fr
If you still would like a configurable add-on, I recommend my other add-on, which allows you to define your own URLs: Quick Spaces -

Quick, easy, and works perfectly. Excellent add on!
Note: You may have to change one setting in your google admin.google.com settings. Simply go into your admin page and search "search and assistant settings" and make sure you have "access to workspace data through assistant" set to "On".
Thank you for your feedback.
I have added your tip to the description of this add-on and, naturally, credited you for it.
For your information, I have created a different add-on that should display the tasks for Google Workspace users even if the Assistant setting is not enabled: https://addons.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/addon/open-google-tasks-default/
