Session Manager

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

(Disclaimer: I don't know the author.) I downloaded Michael's update 0.8.1.1 today and have it working in Austalis (on a very heavily modded FF installation). Austalis is deeply changed, so anyone having problems - I recommend disabling extensions one by one while leaving this on and testing (ask me how I know). AS WELL... Australis may require you to reset localstore.rdf (see the note at 'classic theme restorer').

I just want to say that Michael has done an impeccable (and consistent) job on a great and tremendously useful product over the years.
Austalis broke lots of stuff, including a large portion of mozilla user-base confidence. This is going to take some time "all around". Lets not blame the extension authors too soon for retooling upgrades they are gonna be facing probably for a while longer.

Session Manager

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I don't know about the fellow's situation who mentioned all the problems... seems like something else must be going on in that situation, even if disabling this tool seemed to stop them. Sometimes the source of a problem isn't so obvious, even if it seems to be so..

I have no affiliation with the developer...

I have been using this addon for years now ...with absolutely no issues -ever, And the memory usage has been improved over time, as well. I consider myself to be a heavy user (engineer/developer/researcher) and I use this 'to death'.

It never fails, I have never lost any links, it is a key tool for keeping my projects well organized and distinctively manageable (one from another).

I typically (on average) will have about 15 windows open with from 100 to well over 150 tabs in my main browser. I am usually running two to three browsers (different types and versions, and for various reasons), and the other FF ones typically run about 10 windows with about 50 to 80 tabs. Typically 1-3 windows will be a 'collective' for a project or job. Session Manager makes handling this scope and managing this type of usage a breeze. Bookmarks simply cannot support this need - I use bookmarks for maintaining library-collections of data (references)....

...So if I was at an actual library, bookmarks would be like the catalog to the stuff on the shelves, and Session Manager would be collections of open books ++plus other stuff (that never makes it to the book shelves) on various tables, or in conference rooms... the dynamic aspect.

Plus, Session Manager provides a great tool for going back in time and observing the "state of operations" for any given project on any given day - or during any period. Bookmarks, even with tagging simply don't provide the tools for real dynamic projecting and research management.

The developer is diligent in keeping up this tool, and helping people, and listening to feedback for development.

I see session management as an integral key component to using browsers and the web in any practical manner. The tool provided here is a necessary one for anyone who seriously relies on the web for research, communication, and working.

Stylish - Custom themes for any website

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have been using Stylish for a really long time on several versions of FF (since 2), including all the newer ones, and it runs rock solid. Its extremely useful, very easy and convenient to use, stable, and well developed.
I am a programmer and computer engineer (on Windows, Linus, Mac, and Novell [since 1980]), so you know this opinion isn;t coming from someone lacking at least basic PC knowledge. To berate the author (for an excellent and long-time extremely popular and FREE utility) because of a lack of posting a change-log or you could not get it working is parochial at best.
I would recommend (any)one learn how to search/scan the page [and/or google] for help, or use the link to email an author asking him/her a question if you need more info.

BTW, the author posts Release Notes at the bottom of this page ;^)

Thanks for your excellent work on Stylish, Jason, and sharing it with the community. You deserve nothing less than 5 stars.

Go Parent Folder

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For those of us searching for a replacement to "locate in bookmark folders" by Alex Muntean that we used in pre FF3. Very necessary tools, this and "Show Parent Folder". THANK YOU!

ColoUnREaDTabs

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use Colorful tabs by Shivanand Sharma, which I believe italicizes unread tabs for me in earlieer versions or FF, but not v2. Anyway, I like things small and uncomplicated, so I have not tried out Tab Mix Plus (popular) because I have just what I need with a couple tiny addons... except this functionality that ColoUnREaDTabs provides. It simply does what it says, and I thought I'd let you know that it doesn't conflict with Colorful Tabs ;^)
Thank you Giuliano Masseroni for filling th gap - simply.
