I just followed the directions for install, and dragged the gmail this icon in the customize toolbars in FF and there it goes! Works great!

It's purple. There's a lot of purple. The buttons are purplish. All in all I'd have to say it's purple.

I like the red hue. Everything is simple and clean. I really like themes like this which are slight variation and improvement upon the default. Much nicer than some of the garish and themes in this repository.
