The first thing I tried, dragging some selected text into the search window, did not work as GT does.

Oh well. I may check in a year or so and give it another try.

If there was a way to customize which search engines are available I couldn't find it. I searched high and low too since I couldn't believe that option would be excluded.

I hope a future release will allow this feature. And if it does, I hope it will include the other Google databases currently not accessible without re-searching (books, scholar, news archives etc.)

It's hard to believe Google doesn't offer a custom tab feature. I would gladly pay if this mod filled the gap.
