Attachment Extractor

works as described but very inefficient - I have hundreds of email folders and over 140k emails, so removing attachments from emails will take a VERY long time - ideally, I would like to right-click on a folder and extract attachments on a per-folder basis, but perhaps this is not an option. Until then, I'll have to look for alternatives.

Appears to be partly incompatible with 23a2. Not all features working. Hoping to see update, this is a great add-on.

Had intermittent success with this add-on (1.3). Some emails nicely stripped, others fell over immediately.
then tried cleaning folders (I have 400 nested (sub-)folders and more than 68,000 emails, total space around 1.2GB) and some folders nicely cleaned, others failed to work.
Tried 1.4b and that failed to install correctly on TB 13. Some of the Prefs settings 'panes' were blank, and when I tried to run it, crashed immediately.
happy to test/work with dev if useful

thanks for additional comments/instructions. I think I was expecting other function/s and/or different logic in operation of the add-on. Apologies for any confusion.

thanks for your email and the suggestions.
I tried all of them and here are the results:
I am running TB 8.0b4.
- After install it and restart (only once, like most extensions) and with default options, go to the global search box up right (if you have Thunderbird built-in option 'enable global search and indexer' checked at Options->Advanced->General) and write something: your current selected folder must be filtered with the words you type (this is the 'enable quick filtering on search box' option).
didn't work, search behaviour as per normal, ie all occurrences of search term identified, not just in current folder, so no change in behaviour (as previously reported)
- Open the Thunderbird Quick Filter bar: filter-box must be disappeared, because you can just filter from search box (option 'hide and disable quick filter box'; this behavior can be changed to hide the global search box and show filter box using this last to do filter and searchs -pressing keys Control+Enter to search and simply typping to filter-).

- Go to menu View->Toolbars->Customize: you will find a new widget called 'Unified Search Widget', drag&drop it on the toolbar, for example just right to global search box (I cannot add this widget automatically to the toolbar when extension install ;-( ); this widget have both filter and search capabilities with all the filter options in the dropdown menu or in the floating bar; if this better widget works for you, you can now remove global search box from toolbar (with 'customize') or hidded in the extension options (option 'hide and disable the global search box...') and hide too the quick filter bar (option 'hide and disable the quick filter bar...') to save vertical space.
widget works once and only once. searches correctly within folder but the second search, the search extends to all folders etc, so the search behaviour reverts to default.
I have played around with settings etc and can't get the add-on or the toolbar widget to work - happy to keep trying ...

Couldn't get it to work on Mac using TB8.0b2. No matter what settings were made, no change in behaviour of TB, even after multiple restarts and setting options on/off. I assumed it would work as I could install ok, but after that it did nothing.
Removed and looking for alternatives.
