It works, but the tabs in all the windows but first one get reloaded upon merging, thus losing any text input or saved data in there.
Also, a nicer place for Merge windows command would be in Window menu.
At last, a nice to have functionality would be to add Duplicate to Private Window — this is often useful for debugging websites.

Still works fine, will not install on FF43 due to signing requirement. Easier icon fix from what I reviewed ages ago:
Download extension to desktop
Open in a suitable programme
Go to folder "\chrome\duplicatethistab.jar\skin\icons\" within archive
Extract icon-large.jpg file to desktop
Rename as icon.png
Place this file into root folder of archive (the one that's got install.rdf file in it)
Install to Firefox.
Should now have an icon under add-ons menu

One addon that does it right. Yet, there is a bug: all menu items are present no matter what I set in options.

"Duplicate Tab in new window" in context menu doesn't work anymore - opens an empty window.

If you middle click the reload button, you'll duplicate the current tab without any extension needed.

This is a nice addon except that it overrides the use of ctrl+shift+T with out an option to put it back. I use that combination to restore a closed tab all the time, not it just duplicates the one I'm looking at.
People have complained for a year with apparently no response based on the comments. That makes this an unresponsive developer as well.
I guess I'll turn it off.

Exactly what I was looking for!
One update would be great though: an option to change the short code to merge windows - Ctrl + Shift + M - as this is used by the Firefox Developer Tools to switch to "responsive Design Mode"

I use this and Tab Control as a way to avoid the bloatware that is Tab Mix Plus.
However, I would much prefer if this addon had the option of just adding a single button to duplicate tab to the context menu, like in every other browser. This would save needing two clicks - I'm sure if you monitored usage people just duplicate the tab 99% of the time, and you are making this twice as complicated as it needs to be for GUI users by requiring two clicks to duplicate a tab. At least make this an option in the settings to simplify this addon for those who only need duplication of tab functionality.

Oh my god how much I've been needing something like this since I started working with 2 monitors (and it's been a long time). Absolutely ESSENTIAL. My life is going to be much easier from now on. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The "CTRL + SHIFT + T" key combination to "Undo Close Tab" is overridden by this addon. Please fix it.

Nice addon, very handy. Except for one thing: When you accidentally close a tab and want to retrieve it with CTRL+SHIFT+T the current tab gets duplicated.

Except merge windows everything else works nice on 6.0 if you force no compatibility check. Just add this value to about.config
extensions.checkCompatibility.6.0 and set to false

I just upgraded to FF5 and this add-in "Duplicate This Tab" was flagged as not compatible and was disabled. As per other user's suggestion I looked at Add-on Compatibility Reporter but since it is "Recommended for alpha and beta users only!" I decided not to use it as I'm not in that arena for my browser. At this point I will be evaluating other tab duplicators or consider switching back to MSIE which has native tab duplication capability.
