Marcel has provided a solution for Boenisch's problem - I created a "aaaTemp" subfolder and copied the relevant emails there, then right-clicked on aaaTemp to crawl only that folder. By way of preparation, I had created a Temp address book, into which I sent the results, which I then just drag/dropped into a new List. Sure, it would be nice if this was a one-step process, but hey, it works!
