Note to self: DuckDuckGo (HTML & HTTPS / SSL) AKA (HTML / SSL) AKA (non-JS HTTPS / SSL) is the encrypted version of DuckDuckGo that allows HTML in the search but not Javascript. It's a little faster and safer than the default site, i.e., DuckDuckGo (HTTPS/SSL), as it blocks Javascript, but it doesn't have all of the features of the default site (namely search results that include images and videos).

How nice. I moved from Google to Scroogle for simple anonymity. When Big G finally shut them down I considered ixquick, but I had tested it now and then when I used Scroogle and didn't like it.
But ixquick wasted no time to create startpage.com - still my fav., but I have had duckduckgo addon (not plain search provider). I have hotkeys for them. s=startpage, d=duck*2go & ddg=this very one, Duck going on without power of scrpting :D

DuckDuckGo is the best search engine that I have ever used. Google, Yahoo, Bing, AskJeeves, are all evil and useless by comparison. Go go DuckDuckGo!

I have used this search engine now for quite some time, ever since Scroogle was shut down by Google! I think this one is at least as effective as Scroogle (may it rest in peace:-). It is quick, gives me loads of search responses and is as safe as anything else "out there" in this category. With Google getting ever more stealthily intrusive into our privacy, I have come to a point where search engines like this one is a must if you care at all about your choice to privacy from intrusive mega corps like google and yahoo etc.

Adding to the facilities and characteristics of Duck Duck Go this add on reduces the risks of vulnerabilities by not using the currently under fire Java. Works without a glitch for me.

I wanted to try out the non javascript version of DuckDuckGo but I couldn't find the settings to show both Favicons + WOT Icons so switched back to the HTTPS version.
I really like using DuckDuckGo it has minimal advertisements, better search results, and instead of downloading the WOT add-on or toolbar I can just change the search engines settings to show the websites rating.
Lately my computer has been getting infected by drive by downloads using a certain search engine but I have never so far been infected by going to any of DuckDuckGo's search results.
I would very much recommend this search engine but if you like to see the website ratings then maybe try the most downloaded one (HTTPS) version.
