Glad this will be add to Thunderbird 3, that's great! You could even replace pop3 with imap when setting up gmail account to force "non geek" people to use imap ;)

I just got some small bug with TB 2.0.0.17 (windows), after clicking wizard's finish button if you type the wrong password and tb doesn't fetch the imap folder, it display an error message that the Draft, Sent ... folders cannot be set (because they are not fetch yet)

You need to set them manualy afterwards to fix it...
