Now it freezes no more! I don't know what has made it. Maybe due to newer version of Thunderbird, as this add-on has not been updated for long.
Anyway now it works great. I hope the mozilla guys integrate this functionality into the next version.

mshazer , this possible do more simply , just open this addon in WinRAR or 7zip (or another) and edit install.rdf

here is the deal i have no clue if this is right but i managed to get it to work with out bypassing the compatibility check.
first i installed extension developer. add-on. using that extension (from the tools menu) selext extension builder.
just to note that in order to find the file you need to set the setting to view hidden files.
browse
ypu have to go in to the for vista (C:), user, "your profile name", appdata, roaming, mozilla, firefox, profiles, orptcwat.default, extensions, {31513E58-F253-47ad-86DB-D5F21E905429}
edit install.rdf
scroll down to the bottom and change firefox MAX VER: to 3.1.0.*

save close and restart firefox.

it should work.
also if you had minimize to tray enhancer you can do the same. i have not tried it yet .

Thank you RobCr tray it is far better esp that it works with firefox 3 and any other application on pc!!! like MS office or any any program you may run itryed it and its wonderful

TrayIt is very good, but MinimizetoTray + MinimizetoTray Enhancer is faster opening FF ( turbo ).

There is a FREE utility called TrayIt, that allows you to Minimize Firefox (also lots of other programs) into the SysTray.

I have also used MTT for a long time, but am so bummed that this it is not compatible with FF3.0. Could you please update this add-on? Thanks!!!

Great AddOn - I've been using it for years in Firefox and Thunderbird (even v2.0.0.16)! ;-)

But why still botch by using a toolkit?

Plz make it available for FF3!!!
