PS Yes to the suggestion below that something like this should just be integrated into the basic package. It makes no sense to have this be an add-on.

Just adding my voice to the hope that this becomes available sometime soon. I'm in my 50s, with bad eyesight, and this was so needed for people like me. I absolutely love being on Thunderbird except for legibility issues. Wish I knew how to code so I could help on this.
