Excellent Sync - even Postal addresses!
Syncs almost all Contact fields between Gmail and Thunderbird.

Add-ons options allows Postal Address conversion from Gmail free-form to Thunderbird fields addresses - Suggest set "use line breaks" and ensure all postal addresses are of same format.

On downside - Thunderbird expects Firstname and Lastname to be populated - to form main "Name" entry - Add-on populates Display Name only. - will be 5 stars when this is fixed!

I wouldn't be supprised if this is working for some people, but I couldn't get it to work yet. It should still be considered a beta.

As a previous review noted, groups do not sync with v0.5.51 in Thunderbird v2.0.0.21. This is a serious issue. Please fix this!

Regarding v.05.51 running on TB v2.0.0.21 French
---------------------------------------------------------------
- does NOT sync long lists of contacts with Google Contacts (say over 40, it fails)

- does NOT sync groups, eg. if a contact is drag&dropped, within TB’s Adress book, from the local “Friends” group to Google Contact’s “Friends” group, it fails (named are not synched properly)

This is TOOOO BAD, please fix it as soon as you can.

Using Vista Business, TB 2.0.0.19. Works really nice, but if the option to load contacts at startup is checked, sometimes TB will show the stop script warning. Below how someone solved the problem for other plugin:

"A bug very similar to this was fixed in the latest release of the Zindus Thunderbird addon.
The bug only affected users with a) large addressbooks and b) slow computers.
The fix involved breaking up one big job into a number of little jobs using Iterators:
http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/New_in_JavaScript_1.7#Iterators
and between little jobs releasing control via setTimeout(0).

after investing ages to get it running it didnt sync all my contacts (particularly groups) and then tried to delete them from the server.

the idea is great and very helpful but its very buggy, needs loads of improvement!

After installing the add-on, when I clicked on Address Book, it crashed Thunderbird. I tried it a couple of times and the same thing happens.

Did not sync the first time, I have a relatively small contacts list of about 100 entries. Second time it just synced what was missed the previous time and erased half of the database on Google.

Do not use until it's fixed! In the mean time Zindus feels more mature.

I got it working, but it does lack any control over the process. The addon creates a new address book for each google account. I copied all my contacts into this address book and they did sync with Google. The only problem is that the addresses were truncated into only the first line of the address.

It seems that Zindus might be a more developed addon, which I will try next.
