Finally I landed on a dark theme where the main writing window is white. Loved the dark deep blue as background.
Loved the bright accents, which really contribute to the aesthetic.
Just like others have mentioned, the rounded buttons instead of tabs could be toned down. All the other round shapes are lovely. I still prefer the idea of a slightly rounded folder tab instead of a rounded button.
This is now my main theme across all my Thunderbird instances.
