This addon provides “Smart” quote support for Thunderbird Email.
To use this addon:
Convert to Typographic Quotes converts selected text with "straight" quotes to text using proper typographic quotes.
Smart Quotes enables or disables Auto Smart Quotes. Smart quotes will be entered as you type. You can enter a Straight quote by holding the control key as you type a quote. To turn off Auto Smart Quotes, click on the button again.

To use this addon:
- Install the addon as normal
- Open a new message window
- Right-Click on the tool bar and select Customize …
- Drag the two Smart Quote buttons to the toolbar
