I regularly use 6 email addresses so I was upset when with one of the latest TB iterations the previous addon I was using to handle then stopped working.
In fact it has turned out to be a blessing in disguise as, when I explored the alternatives, I discovered Identity Chooser which does the job so well and, I have to say, stylishly.
On top of it I have been experiencing some conflict with another addon, and Janek, the developer, has been unfailingly (and rapidly) helping me through the various options to get the most out of IC.
Five stars out of five!

@crisco44 sorry for your experience but I do not think it has to do with the number of bookmarks. I have 3500+ (more than double yours) and have had no problem with this addon which works fine. For me, ur just took a little time
