■ Announcement:
I'm currently working on upgrading to VER 1.5.
[Bug Fixes]
・ Web-API Call Method Correction (Undocumented Ip-info Restrictions)
Around a certain time, IP address-based country code resolution began
failing due to what appeared to be undocumented restrictions of the
Ip-info API. This had led to an issue where we were relying solely on
censorship via other features.
This problem is now being addressed.
・ IndexedDB transaction fix
A measure that works robustly even in abnormal situations where Thunderbird
cannot manage the store
This issue will be fixed.
・ Option Button Position Misalignment Due to Subtle UI Variations Based on
Thunderbird Version or Language Code
This issue will be corrected.
■ Function Overview
In recent years, the number of cross-border fraudulent emails and spam
emails has been increasing.
Thunderbird has an existing spam filter, but it cannot prevent all spam
emails, and it may filter out legitimate emails.
This add-on provides a way to isolate and delete fraudulent emails from
a different perspective than existing functions.
(For example, it has been found that in Japan, almost all fraudulent emails can
be deleted simply by filtering out emails from China.)
■ Display Language
* Supports English, Japanese, and German.
(However, you can set it to any country in the world.)
■ List of functions
1. Operates when reception is performed
2. Identify the country from the header information of the received
email and mark it for deletion.
3. Identify the country from the IP address of a received email
and mark it for deletion
4. Identify the country from the links in the body of received
emails and mark it for deletion (if a suspicious
redirect URL is detected, the email will also be marked if for deletion)
5. Spoof checking using cross-domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
6, Exceptions feature to perform minimal spoofing checks on specific domains
7. Isolate unexpected emails that do not belong to allowed or
excluded countries
8, Set the actual process for emails that are for deletion (immediate deletion or trash)
9, Adds an "Empty the contents" menu to the right-click menu of the quarantine folder
■ Settings
0. Where to set up CrossBorderScam-Canceler
It is located in the menu bar [[Tools]-[Settings]] - bottom left of the
screen [Add-ons and Themes] -[CrossBorderScam-Canceler] -
[Options] tab.
1, Country Code Filter
・ Specify the country codes to allow and exclude

2, cross-domain authentication filter ([Enabled] is recommended)
Set up spoofing checks using inter-domain authentication
functions (SPF, DKim, Dmarc)
3. Whitelist domains

check items will be minimal spoofing checks only
(cross-domain approval only)
(Exception function to avoid false positives for specific emails)
4, Set the specific action to be taken for the removal judgment email. (Delete
immediately or move to trash)
■ Caution
* Please note that if you often deal with emails from unexpected countries,
this add-on may not be suitable for you.
