I happily was able to use a duplicate manager in past versions, but in v.60 so far can get nothing

In response to recent requests/reviews:
The original developer has abandoned this add-on and has been unreachable for years. Since I needed some improvements I ended up doing them myself and providing a strongly improved add-on here: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/duplicate-contacts-manager/

Great App but it does not work with 60.3. Can you update it?

The display to configure it before starting is way too big and it's impossible to resize it, hence the buttons to start and stop are not accessible on 13 inch display.

Open address book.
Select either "Personal" or "Collected" but NOT "All address books".
Then menu item "Tools" then "Find and Manage Duplicates.."

TB52.4, the box appears, but without any addres book selection device, and 'start' does nothing.

If two contacts are exactly the same, no automatic merging is possible.

Tried installing, removing and reinstalling. It does not seem to do anything at all. The window comes up. I make my selection to collect all duplicates and click START but nothing ever happens. TBird ver. 52.2.1

Does what it is supposed to do, the side-by-side view of (near) duplicates allows efficient screening and merging of entries

The window « search » appears well (and in french automatically, nice), but when click on START, nothing seems to happen.
EDIT : at the end, that works but not on ALL addresse books together… So not very usefull tool because i need to find doubles between all differents address books.
RE_EDIT : well, i tried one more and i can compare two address books together, but not all adresses books in one action.

Last update is from 2012 but still works on Thunderbird 45.4.0 (though only by selecting one address book at the time). I would like to translate this add-on to Portuguese European pt-PT, developers please submit your add-on on babelzilla.org for free localization

This extension works well and works with TB 45.
However, it has a bug: if "All Address Books" is selected, if does not work as expected (dialog show up but does not let you select which addess books you want to compare.
You have to click on an address book first, then it will display its main extension dialog properly.

It has various settings that work well, but it cleaned out quite a few addresses entirely. Ooops.

Kudos to the developer. Works great, with only one suggestion; Adding a button in the review page, to merge unique info before deleting the duplicate, would make it great. Thanks for a real time saver. Five stars as is.

Installed in Thunderbird 38.7.1. Tried running it and nothing happens at all. Tried on three different installs (three separate machines) and it just doesn't do a thing.

Thun. 38.6 on Linux. For these who wonder how to launch it it's in Contacts Manager » Tools » Find Duplicates
Finds dupes into a single list or list A and B. Let me choose which of the contacts to keep/delete, one by one or automatically.
Proposal: add some merge helpers (e.g. "Merge these fields", with a bidirectional arrow). Thank you for sharing this module!
