Traffic Light Protocol 2.0 (TLP 2.0): Marks emails according to the Traffic Light Protocol, including an additional CONFIDENTIAL level, directly in the Thunderbird compose window.

Marks emails according to the Traffic Light Protocol 2.0 (TLP:CLEAR, GREEN, AMBER, AMBER+STRICT, RED) plus an additional CONFIDENTIAL level – in the subject and with an explanatory footer. Runs fully locally, no telemetry.
TLP 2.0 - Classification marks emails right while composing according to the Traffic Light Protocol 2.0 (TLP 2.0) – the internationally used FIRST.org standard for indicating how far information may be shared.
FEATURES
- Clicking the icon in the compose window toolbar opens the level picker: TLP:CLEAR, TLP:GREEN, TLP:AMBER, TLP:AMBER+STRICT and TLP:RED.
- Additional level VERTRAULICH (CONFIDENTIAL): for information intended exclusively for the individually named recipients (organization-specific extension, not an official TLP 2.0 value).
- The marking is added to the subject in the usual TLP format, e.g. "TLP:AMBER, Project status".
- Optionally, a footer explaining the meaning of the level is added at the end of the message – in German, English or both.
- Downgrade warning: if the subject or quoted text of a reply or forward contains a higher classification (e.g. "Re: TLP:RED, …"), the add-on warns you before a lower level is applied.
- Re-applying replaces the existing marking instead of duplicating it. Footers in quoted messages remain unchanged.
- Supports HTML and plain-text messages.
PRIVACY
- No telemetry, no usage statistics.
- No connections to external servers, APIs or CDNs – all code is bundled locally in the add-on.
- Settings are stored locally in Thunderbird only.
- Subject and message body are processed only within the compose window and are neither stored nor transmitted.

The add-on applies a marking but does not enforce any sharing restriction. The authoritative definition of TLP 2.0 is the current version at first.org/tlp.
