per Heinz Bundschuh
A clear month view in the style of classic desktop planners, in its own tab: flip month by month with the mouse wheel, open, create, hide, compact, export as ICS and delete events (with backup).

HOW TO OPEN IT • Click the "Planner" button in the toolbar. It is available in every space, including Mail and Calendar. If you do not see it, right-click the toolbar, choose "Customize…" and drag the "Planner" button into the toolbar. • Or use the menu Tools → Open month planner (press the Alt key if the menu bar is hidden). The planner opens in a new tab. Clicking the button again brings the open tab to the front.
HOW TO USE IT • Change month: mouse wheel over the calendar, the "previous month" / "next month" buttons, or PgUp / PgDn. Home jumps to today. • Open an event: double-click it. Thunderbird's own event dialog opens. • New event: double-click an empty spot in a day. • More actions: right-click an event – open/edit, hide the series or only this occurrence, show compactly, export as ICS, delete. Before deleting, an ICS backup is saved to your downloads folder. • Full day: if not all events fit, "↓ n" in the day header shows all events of that day. • Sidebar (left): mini calendar for quick jumps, holidays, and the events of the next seven days. The button ◧ at the bottom left shows or hides the sidebar. • Holidays 1900–2100: choose none, Austria, Germany, England & Wales or USA. "Show special days" adds days such as Advent Sundays, clock changes or Mother's Day. • Status bar (bottom): pastel colours on/off, reload (⟳), and the lists of hidden and compact events, where you can show them again.
GOOD TO KNOW • Hiding and compacting only change the display. Your events stay in the calendar, sync and remind as usual. • Changes made in Thunderbird appear in the planner automatically. • Works offline and sends no data anywhere. English and German user interface (follows Thunderbird's language). • Source code and bug reports: https://github.com/HeinzBundschuh/kalender-terminplaner
