Bonjour, et merci pour ce retour — désolé pour la déception.

L'anglais → français fonctionne avec les trois moteurs. Le cas le plus fréquent
de « ça marche pour les autres langues mais pas pour le français » vient du
moteur MyMemory : contrairement à Google Translate et DeepL, MyMemory ne
détecte pas la langue source, il faut la renseigner soi-même dans les
paramètres, champ « Email language ».

Si ce champ est réglé sur French alors que la langue cible est French elle
aussi, MyMemory refuse la demande (« PLEASE SELECT TWO DISTINCT LANGUAGES ») —
ce qui donne exactement ce symptôme : toutes les autres langues cibles
fonctionnent, sauf le français.

Deux solutions :
• Paramètres → Translation provider → Google Translate (ou DeepL) : ces moteurs
détectent la langue source automatiquement. Google Translate ne demande ni
compte ni clé.
• Ou, si vous préférez MyMemory : réglez « Email language » sur la langue dans
laquelle vos e-mails sont écrits (English, par exemple) et la langue cible sur
French — les deux doivent être différentes.

La prochaine version affichera un message explicite dans ce cas, au lieu de
l'erreur brute renvoyée par MyMemory.

Si le problème persiste, dites-moi quel moteur est sélectionné et le texte exact
affiché dans le panneau de droite, et je corrige.

Thanks for reporting this — and sorry for the confusion. What you saw was a bug
in our error message, not a MyMemory requirement.

The add-on never needs an account. Google Translate is the default engine and
works with no key and no login. The problem was that the error panel had
MyMemory's wording hardcoded into it, so any rate-limit response — including one
coming from Google Translate — displayed MyMemory text telling you to log in.
And when MyMemory itself was selected, its raw quota response was passed through;
that text mentions logging in, but it is just MyMemory's free per-IP daily limit,
not an account requirement.

This is fixed in version 1.0.3, now available:
- Every error message names the engine that actually ran. MyMemory is never
mentioned unless you selected MyMemory.
- Google Translate rate limits are retried automatically and, if they persist,
are explained as a temporary limit on your connection — no account involved.
- The progress bar shows which engine is running, so you can confirm it at a
glance.
- Choosing DeepL without an API key no longer falls back to another service
silently.
- In Settings, the optional e-mail field under MyMemory is labelled as what it
is: not a login, and fine to leave empty.

Version 1.0.4 also adds a ↻ button to the translation panel, which translates
the open email again after you change the engine.

If anything still fails for you, please tell me the exact text shown in the
panel and I will look into it. Thanks for taking the time to report it.
