I've been looking for something like this for quite some time.
I am really impressed with the JavaScript.
It was interesting to browse to a recent article by Jeff Atwood at Coding Horror (http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/001181.html) that talked about parens in URLs.
Linkification only had trouble with the URLs that end in a paren.

There is no reason this add-on shouldn't be part of the core FireFox functionality.
There are so many people that only develop their websites while testing with IE that this is really handy.
