Love this add on, but with the latest Firefox version it is no longer capable of being enabled.
I know there has not been any update in the last several years, but perhaps someone could address this?
I am running Firefox ESR 52.5.0 (32-bit)

I love this add-on, but it would be great if there was a way to edit the hard tab and tab width settings through the options dialog instead of through about:config. Also, it's a little confusing that the add-on is listed as "Tab in Textarea" in some places and "Tabinta" in others.

I am not sure if I am doing it right. I downloaded the add-on and the tab does not work. When I click on options, it brings up a box to set the tab key. I have tried several things and none of them work. Can you help?

When you right-click a textarea, does a "Tabinta" option appear in the context menu? Try it with this web page: http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?edit=WikiWikiSandbox
Please note that Tabinta is only for plain textarea fields which means that it does not work in e.g. rich text editors which support boldface etc.
If you cannot make it work, please report it as an issue at http://code.google.com/p/tabinta/issues/list so that I could further investigate it.

Upgraded to FF 5 and tabs in Gmail composition area still move focus instead of inserting tab into text area. Please fix!!!

The add-on is working again after updating Firefox to version 3.6.11

It would be nice if you could set a key combination as shortcut (for example Ctrl-Shift-Tab or whatever) to quickly turn the add-on on and off. I use this add-on alot for indenting the code in a CMS I work with, and sometimes it would be quicker to Tab through the fields in a form or something. Now I have to use the mouse to go to the next field. A key combination would be nice so you don't have to use the mouse anymore.

It's okay, but doesn't work for rich text editors or forms... Only text area's, which kinda sucks. What's more, I'm not sure but I don't think it let's you use 2 keys as a shortcut (I just use TAB, anyway), and it could be made better in numerous ways.
It's pretty helpful at times though. I just wish more people made things like this as it's the only addon that does this.

Only reason it's not a 5 is because it won't let me use the windows key as a metakey (i.e. I wanted to do WinKey-Tab as the substitute).

I did not like the hard tabs so I changed the preference to 4 spaces.
1) go to "about:config"
2) type in "tabinta" on the line to filter
3) change "tabinta.hard" to "false"
4) change "tabinta.tab_width" to "5" for a 4 space tab.

Very important functionality for me - should be default behavior IMO.
The only bad thing about this plugin is, that it is so hard to find.

This extension does exactly what I need. It makes gmail usable. It is mall, easy to configure, and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles that I don't want.

A small addon who makes a big difference. It works exactly as expected, but if I would be able to choose to insert X-white spaces instead, it would be even better.

Users should have ability to
* choose whether they insert tab or spaces
* set number of spaces representing a tab
* disable tab-insert mode at any time

Very nice extension (Nagyon tetszik!).
It would be nice to have a UI toggle to turn it on or turn it off.

Works fine in Firefox 2.0.0.4. Why this isn't a default option in Firefox is beyond me. Internet Exploder hasn't been able to do this in its entire life!
