Thunderbird's GUI can only manage S/MIME (X.509) certificates for the main identity of each account. This extension add a "S/MIME Security" tab to the "Identity Setting Dialog".
The extension reuses the code already implemented for the "S/MIME Security" part of the Account Manager dialog and adds only a few lines of "glue" code. This ensures 100% compatibility with Thunderbird.
Please note: Some users reported, that Thunderbird does not sign the messages as expected. This is not a bug of 'S/MIME Security for Multiple Identities', but of Thunderbird. 'S/MIME Security for Multiple Identities' simply adds a configuration dialog and changes the configuration. If Thunderbird does not sign the messages, this is out out scope for this add-on.
