Is the plug-in lonely? The pitfalls of MetaClean for Thunderbird
You install a plug-in to improve efficiency and protect your privacy, but MetaClean for Thunderbird ends up “sealing” your mailbox?
As this user GVS said:
“The IMAP mailbox went on strike, emails can't be sent, they get stuck in the Sent folder and don't move. Disabling the plug-in instantly makes things smooth again.”
You read that right, it's not your computer that's stuck, it's the plug-in that's causing problems. You think it's silently purifying metadata in the background, but in fact it's silently interfering with everything you do in the foreground. What's even more outrageous is that you don't even know if it's actually successfully purging metadata.
