Hello! Thanks for addon ImportExportTools, it does just what I need - export mail messages to HTML from selected folder.
Just want to know - is there some possibility to do export automatically? Had found option about pereodical backup, but it is not export.
Can you help me with that? Maybe I shoould use another addon?

Great add-on, but since Thunderbird 22 can just import saved accounts, not export anymore. Please update it, thank you !

The export utility doesn't export the message body to the .csv file. Also, the last column exported is just the heading "Subject:"

Did not work. The tool could not find the Thunderbird files exported from my other computer even though they were exported using the same tool.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.8.0.4).Probably you didn't follow the right procedure in importing.
If you want more info, please write to my e-mail

My mail server crashed unrecoverably. I was able to go to backups, but ImportExportTools also allowed me to retrieve all the mail I had received since the last backup by exporting it from my client. If I could give this six stars, I would!

Much like good, old archivemail, just without the hassle. And, of course, it works with remote mail folders. A little polish for the exported HTML (index page, etc) and I'd give it five...

General:
* individual export email's file name should also have time prefix (currently YYYYMMDD, compare to YYYYMMDDHHMMSS).
REASON: when there are several messages per day, it's important to determine the order.
* NEW feature: export all as a single html WITH attachments either DESC or ASC.
Desire of a export configuration options , when creating the Index.htm:
1/ standardize date to ISO format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM(:SS), currently YYYY-MM-DD
REASON:
Very convenient for sorting and no confusion between MM-DD or DD-MM ). Should people like it also DD-MM-YYYY HH:MM or MM-DD-YYYY HH:MM
2/ having the option to generate index in DESCENDING order.
3/ should have an option to add to index:
* cc & cci (sometimes it is very usefull to have this info ready)
* mark when the email as the "important" flag, versus normal
* COUNTER of attachement if > 0

Hi,
Excellent software, many thanks (not only for this add-on, but also for all the others you give to the community).
I encountered the following problems under v2.8.0.4 when "Export all the messages in a folder / Format HTML with attachments" :
-When selecting more than one folder, the attachments are not saved (except for the first selected folder), only its description is shown. (When selecting only one folder, everything is ok, and the attachments folders are created on disk.)
- When selecting a folder with sub-folders, nothing is exported; the add-on seems to be in an infinite loop. (And nothing is written in the log file.)
Kind regards,
Michel.

I suddenly was not able to open many emails - they would be blank but you could see the html source and most graphics just showed the code. I used the tool to export and then re-import all my folders and mail and although some graphics got lost, my mail was there and functional.

Attachments are not exporting with "HTML (with attachments)" or "Text (with attachments)".
I uninstalled 2.8.0.3 and re-installed 2.8.0.2 and it works under the previous version.
There was a bug in 2.8.0.3 version that broke this function with IMAP accounts. Now it's fixed in 2.8.0.4 version.
Thanks for you report.

Works exactly as advertised. Only quirk I noticed is that every so often an attached email is imported without the sender name (just displays "--" in the Sender column). But that's a minor flaw for such a useful add-on. So handy to be able to finally do this. Thanks!

I needed to export the emails 'sent messages' folder on an old email server to the 'sent messages' on the new email server. This was just the tool for the job, and it worked really well.It could've provided some info about how to import the file to an imap folder on an account (importing it to a local folder and then moving or copying the emails from there to the imap-folder you want), otherwise it was awesome!

I have 2 email accounts. For those, I just moved over 200 messages from my laptop to my Desktop PC, in 2 exported files. I've also exported all my Desktop Local email, by year, by account, with folder structures. This is in Windows 7 64-bit, using Thunderbird 17.0.5. I could not ask for more. This application overcomes my one misgiving about using Thunderbird in place of Outlook.
Thank You!

Seems like a good tool but I notice that when I select all messages in a folder and export them or do an export of a whole folder, it doesn't export them all. Is it ignoring messages which are earlier parts of other emails? i.e. is it exporting only the latest part of each separate conversation?
For example:
* I email joe@bloggs.com: "Hi Joe, how's things?"
* Joe replies "good and you?" and I file the email into the folder (let's call this email # 1)
* I reply to Joe "not bad, can't complain. What are you doing after work today?"
* Joe replies "I'm working late tonight" and I file that email into the same folder as the earlier one (lets call this email # 2)
Under the above example scenario, does the ImportExportTools add-on only export the email with Joe's second reply (email # 2) and skip the earlier one (email # 1) because it is a part of the later one? I need to know this before we can use the add-on with confidence. Please advise.

STILL does not work. Performing an export and reimporting it causes corruption. At minimum duplicate messages, but scrambled and nonsensical data happens sometimes as well. Developer ignores the problem (my emails have been met with no response). Is ANYONE using this? I hope not, because you are losing data.
