Custom Buttons²
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
CB2 is an extension that gets updated regularly, has a forum of helpful info & responses, as well as quite a large selection of buttons for installation. Designing a button on the other hand can be a bit of a task for beginners, but some beginners do wind up being quite proficient at the task. Some folk use CB2 for just 2 or 3 tasks essential that they couldn't find elsewhere, and some people clutter up their toolbars with dozens of CB2 buttons. However, even the clutter may improve in the future, with improved sub-menu's (and hidden toolbars that expand on a button-click help as well, though are a little more disorienting in the expansion-collapse than a menu). These buttons can (with a little work) mimic clicking menu-items (in the menu-toolbar or such)... though iMacros can do that as well I'd think for those who find it too hard to program/code a button. Feel free to stop by the CB2 forums and your proposed/hoped-for button might already exist, or somebody might be willing to help you with coding the button, they might even decide to code it themselves (though no guarantees there).
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.7.7).Multivalency
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This addon provides persistent (saved) marker-highlight and sticky-note abilities. Neither one is too pretty at the moment, there are the occasional bugs, and you have to open the SideBar to use it... but it's just version 1.0b1. This addon is on the path SO many of us have desired... persistency without upload/sharing of information. There are plans to provide toolbar buttons (please not a toolbar, but buttons!... or even right-click options!)... so I am hoping this improves... the website links to the college page, developer, please point to a more applicable webPage. I give 4 stars not because it's that wonderful... but that it is that wonderful in comparison to what else is offered... and also, in hopes that this extension might develop further.
D-Chat Extension
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
http://dchat.rylax.be/index.php -- the page is in french, but about 1/3 way down is a link to D-Chat Extension 1.02 (firefox 3 compatible)... I've never used this program and don't now how stable or useful it is, but there's the link
Tabgroups-Plus
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
TabGroupsPlus is a neat idea... it allows organizing your tabs into meta-tabs (folders) in ways that make sense to you. It has a few bugs and is not mature, but it is indespensible to quite a few people.
Developer, my suggestion is to merge the meta-tab (bar) directly into the regular tab-bar instead of creating a new space-hogging toolbar. At least make it an user option. Also make sure it works with TMP... if it doesn't, you lose quite a large percentage of firefox users. But again, it makes a lot of sense to merge these meta-tabs in with the regular tab-bar, only giving them a different color or such.
