Messaging Menu and Unity Launcher Integration
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This came installed by default in 11.10 and works perfectly!! Love how this 1 add-on does 3 things: notifications, messaging menu, and unity launcher count. Much thanks to Mike Conley and Ruben Verweij! And looking forward to great stuff from you Mike (i.e. updated contacts management)!

Totally love the way Thunderbird Conversation displays your threads, just like in Gmail! Though there were some quirks initially, the dev has been working so actively on this add-on, bringing constant improvements! Now (at 2.1) it is almost flawless and beautiful! THANK YOU DEV! IMO, this should come as the standard TB interface! And for those that say we might as well use Gmail, don't forget that Thunderbird brings many excellent features such as Unified folders from multiple gmail accounts, PGP/SMIME, and so much more!

**NOTE** for those that find their tasks disappearing (from the today pane), the new version only displays active tasks (hence TODAY pane). it will not show tasks that have a FUTURE start date. Tasks without start dates, but a future end date will still show up. To see ALL your tasks, open the task TAB. Once you get used to this new way of displaying tasks in the Today Pane task section, it actually makes more sense than the previous way, since it displays only the most relevant tasks! Great update! Now... still waiting for the dev team to integrate Google's new Task API and Thunderbird will be IMO feature complete.
