I have been using this since TBird 78. Seems to work well in TBird 91. Simple and does what it should. Hit the red start and the mail list reveals all the individual email addresses.
On curiosity that I hope Graeme can explain or fix, is that I cannot figure how the Add on determines the sequence of the names listed. They do not appear to be alpha by either first or last name. I would like to be able to control the sequence of names once expanded, other than having to drag them to a new position in the list.

As said by others, this addon does not works fine as the previous version. There are some bugs and inconsitences. Besides, it is not compatible anymore after TB 68.7.0 was released.

Bonjour,
Cordialement,

This second version of this popular addon, now compatible with the latest versions of Thunderbird, needs some considerable fixing. I have tested with a mailing list of thirty or so email addresses, I then deleted a few to avoid sending, the message was sent to just four addresses instead of 26 or so. Plus it appeared an email address that was deleted long time ago from the mailing list. Plus a blank line appeared in the beginning of the array of email addresses, after expanding the list. Please test more throughly this addon. Thank you.

If you use the so-called "mailing list" feature of Thunderbird address book, you need this extension. Right after you insert a list address, hit the red star "expand it" button, and the addresses will appear one per line in the compose window, as if you had entered each. Now you can delete the list address (the old version was doing so automatically).
This is an ultra-simple extension, since the logic of expanding recipients is already present in TB. It just expands them during editing, thereby making it clear who you're writing a message to. You can visually verify addresses, tweak To/Cc/Bcc, strike unwanted ones, edit display-names, setcetera.
Hint: start all list names with the same prefix, e.g. lll-, that way it's easier to recall which list you mean by typing the prefix.
Hint2: if you have more than a dozen addresses, consider using a "real" mailing list.
