An average programmer, with lots of experiences in xBase (dBase, Clipper, Foxpro), Linux, DOS/Windows, Novell Netware 3.x, C, COBOL, .... Have been working in international corporations as well as small software houses. Hardware-wise, well-versed in IBM PC and compatible, ethernet networking, with some background in IBM mainframes (IBM Cabling System, SNA terminal controllers). Job titles I had acquired: Network Coordinator, Application Programmer, Programmer, Senior Programmer, Application Developer, Analyst Programmer, and System Analyst.

I think I fixed the installation problem of this add-on Manually Sort Folders for Thunderbird versions 103 and beyond!!
I am hosting the file in Google Drive. It is in zip format (same as xpi).

To test it, download the zip file then choose "Install Add-ons from file" in the Extension page of Thunderbird! Remember to remove the old version first. I updated the Changelog in the zip package describing what I did.
BTW, I found the following message interesting. It tried to sort the folder tree using userChrome.css.

Surprised that ThunderBird 3.0 didn't have compact headers as in ThunderBird 2.x by default. This one saves the day!

There is now another tool that works side-by-side with FolderPane Tools. It's called Manually Sort Folders:

This one does NOT replace FolderPane Tools (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/258), as this one does NOT sort newsgroup (and mail) accounts. It only sorts things inside an account. It's still a useful tool.
