QuickNote
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I use this add-on daily, but like some other users, I find some of the changes make it less usable, so I've reverted to version 0.6.0.6 because it suits my purposes. I'm still giving it 5-stars because it has served me so well for several years.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.0.8.1-signed.1-signed). This user has a previous review of this add-on.QuickNote

I like this add on a lot and use it fairly regularly.
It is unobtrusive and very functional.
I just wanted to know, is there some way to add more than four tabs?
What part of the code would one look at to do this?

To get extension to work in Firefox 3.5, see forum post by mikedepetris (dated July 10th, 2009) at: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=83785&start=165

(referring to previous comment by T. H. on September 4, 2009) Tab Mix Plus is heavy and clunky compared to this light, straight-forward extension. I tried it and it kind of does the same thing as this (with a lot of tweaking), but it "adds" all sorts of "features" that I don't want/need, and it alters the appearance of tabs (i.e. favicon on iconised tabs are no longer centred).
I really hope Duplicate Tab will be updated to make it compatible with ver 3.5 and up.

Judging from the comments I'm not alone in really missing "Duplicate Tab" since upgrading to 3.5 . . .

just to echo the comments from others who are running ff3.5 and found that this great extension no longer works there.
Really looking forward to future compatibility.

I have gone to Firefox 3 and this is the extension that I miss the most - are you considering making a FF3 compatible version?

I've been using this for several weeks now, and I find that I miss it when I'm at another computer.
This is a good use of what is really a "residual" piece of the browser interface. I almost never used the home button before this extension.
A great piece of recycling in our environmentally conscious time :)

This is quite useful once it is set up, but unfortunately unless you've ensured that keywords are present on the bookmarks when you enter them, the usefulness of this tool becomes limited.
I would suggest the use of the extension "OpenBook" to add to the usefulness of this extension. This still isn't enough though - a way of adding keywords to existing bookmarks other than each one individually, one-by-one is necessary.
