SmartProxy It uses patterns to automatically define rules to proxify your web experience. With SmartProxy, you don't need to change your proxy manually and turn it on and off. You can add your desired website to the proxy rules list with just one click. After that, when you visit that specific website, SmartProxy will act and all you data for that website will be transferred though the proxy, without you doing anything.

SmartProxy is a free and open-source browser extension. We care about your privacy as much as you do. We do not collect any data from you. We don't share your data with anyone except for syncing purposes which is disabled by default. All the data usages are listed below. The source-code is available for everyone to read and investigate.
SmartProxy is not shipped with any proxy servers nor have its own proxy protocol. We have no control over proxy servers you configure. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that those proxies are reliable. SmartProxy works by telling the browser to use certain proxy servers that is configured by you the user for certain requests. The decision is made in a smart way by using rules that again the user is defined. SmartProxy cannot prevent proxy servers from tracking you, inserting ads into web pages or doing other harm to you. Please contact your network operator or proxy server operator and check their privacy policy for proxy usage.
SmartProxy is ad-free meaning that you can't find any ads displayed by SmartProxy. SmartProxy does not modify requests and their contents or responses and their contents. This also means that we do not serve ads by injecting it into pages or by any other means.
Syncing
SmartProxy allows you to synchronize options across devices by the same browser vendor. Syncing is optional and deabled by default but can be enabled at any time at Settings > General Options > Syncing.
Syncing service is provided by the browser sync which uploads data to the browser sync servers. That means either of Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera and Microsoft Edge are using their own sync servers. The browsers requires you to sign in to their account, but SmartProxy does not have access to your account information. Please check your browser Privacy Policy on this.
Web Request Monitoring
SmartProxy by default tracks the failed requests for each tab. This can be disabled in Settings > General Options > Error Detection. Error detection will track web requests that have failed to load and summarize them by tab and then domain and display them on extension badge and popup menu. The information is only processed shortly in memory for the sole purpose of this feature. We do not store web browsing activity locally or upload them to a remote server.
Disclaimer; SmartProxy browser extensions has nothing to do with smartproxy.com and its related browser extensions and services. SmartProxy source-code is only hosted in Github and the built, signed and ready to install version is hosted in each browser vendor extensions market store.
Some add-ons ask for permission to perform certain functions (example: a tab management add-on will ask permission to access your browser’s tab system).
Since you’re in control of your Thunderbird, the choice to grant or deny these requests is yours. Accepting permissions does not inherently compromise your browser’s performance or security, but in some rare cases risk may be involved.
