every time firefox crashes i lose all my speed dials/icons , so i wont be using a unstable software but was good while it lasted.. frustrated there's no way to back them up

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.0.8).

Yes, there's a way to back them up. In the Speed Dial settings panel, click on the lower-left button called "Settings", and you can export them.

Also, this doesn't happen when Firefox crashes, but when you loose all your preferences...
