This add-on is very easy to use.
I would be happy if this add-on could support TB128.

This completely solved the annoying issue of emails being dated in the future and sorting at the top of my list. THANK YOU! I just sent a donation. Hoping others will too and you will continue to support this add-on in later versions of TB.

This issue still exists in Thunderbird 68. This addon works great to resolve it.
If you prefer not to use an addon, or have moved to Thunderbird 78+, you can also fix the issue by manually editing the the advanced config as discussed here:
http://blog.dmitryleskov.com/small-hacks/putting-the-received-column-in-thunderbird-to-work/
The config editor is now accessed under Options > Options > Advanced.

Does the work. It took me some time to figure out the extra step to "Fix Folder", so it would be useful if this tip can be "bolded" and "highlighted" because I almost miss the info.

just as described. Thunderbird should really fix this by default.

There is one insidious domain mail server (a US government site) that wreaks havoc with the dates. Default Repair Folder only makes it worse updating to current date and time. This add-on fixes that. After the add-on using Repair Folder is still impaired by what is shown in the "Date" column, but the "Received" column is perfect!
Hopefully Mozilla can update a fix to this issue.

Very useful functionality, if the date of e-mails is not shown correctly.

It always annoys me to see an old old mail as a new one in the IMAP folders. Even more it confuses me to see a new order confirmation from a seller when I never ordered something the last time - it takes some times a few momements to catch the fact it's an old mail and i've ordered nothing new by mistake.
Well, as I saw this addon recently I reinstalled Thunderbird which never will fly now on a time travel and take something old forward to the presence.
And more, the second caveat i cannot confirm. I deselect the 'date' column and all threads are sorted always by 'received' - after each restart too. And even if I keep 'date', the threads keeps my choice for 'received'.
Thank You for this essential addon.

This is a great add-on. It fixes one of those (many) details you would think that Thunderbird should include by default but somehow doesn't. Fortunately there is a great community of add-on developers ready to step in and fix many of those little annoyances. Thank you, jikamens, for developing and publishing this add-on.
